Treating Restless Leg Syndrome with 5 Element Patterns for 15 CEUs

California Acupuncture Boardfor 15 CEUs
Restless Leg Syndrome is a
central nervous system disorder. According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood
Institute, Restless Leg
Syndrome may affect as many as 12 million people in the United States. However, others estimate a much higher occurrence because Restless Leg Syndrome
is thought to be under-diagnosed and, in some cases, misdiagnosed.
Some people
with Restless Leg Syndrome
will not seek medical attention, believing that they will not be taken
seriously, that their symptoms are too mild, or that their condition is not
treatable. Some physicians wrongly attribute the symptoms to nervousness,
insomnia, stress, arthritis, muscle cramps, or aging.
Learn to treat this growing illness in your clinic with expert body Acupuncture
points as well as 2 separate Auriculo-Therapy Protocols. Includes Tongue
Diagnosis for Restless Leg Syndrome. Learn the real reason Restless Leg Syndrome
happens to your patients according to Chinese Medicine's 5 Elements. This
course earns 15 CEUs which are accepted by the NCCAOM, CA and most States.

According to the Archives of General Psychiatry, Depression disorders
affect approximately 14.8 million American adults, or about 6.7 percent
of the U.S. population age 18 and older in a given year. While major
depressive disorder can develop at any age, the median age at onset is
32 and more prevalent in women than in men.
As many as one in 33 children and one in eight adolescents
have clinical depression. People with depression are four times as likely to develop a heart
attack than those without a history of the illness. After a heart attack they
are at a significantly increased risk of death or second heart attack, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.
Depression is the leading cause of disability worldwide among
persons 15-44. Depression’s annual toll on U.S. businesses amounts to about $70
billion in medical expenditures, lost productivity and other costs.
Depression accounts for close to $12 billion in lost workdays each year. Additionally,
more than $11 billion in other costs accrue from decreased productivity
due to symptoms that sap energy, affect work habits, cause problems
with concentration, memory, and decision-making. It ranks as the among
the top three workplace issues, following only family crises and stress.
The NIMH states that people
with depression are 4 times as likely to develop a heart attack than
those without a history of the illness. This course discusses the
various etiologies which precipitate it, the psychology involved,
stress which precipitates it, how it is recognized as a distinct 5
Element Pattern, and the exact treatment protocol which will heal it.
The course uses high-end graphics, and easy charts and diagrams. This
makes the understanding easy and effortless, and how to treat the
condition quickly and effectively using easy treatment protocols based
on the diagnosed 5 Elemental Pattern. Includes an ear acupuncture point
protocol based on Chinese Medicine's 5 Elemental Pattern System.
Treating Arthritis of the Hands with 5 Element Patterns

An estimated 46 million U.S. adults (about 1 in 5) report
doctor-diagnosed Arthritis, according to annual estimates. As the U.S.
population ages, these numbers are expected to increase sharply. The number of
adults with doctor-diagnosed Arthritis is projected to increase to 67 million
by 2030, and more than one-third of these adults will have limited activity as
a result. In addition, a recent study indicated that some form of Arthritis
affects 1 in every 250 children. Arthritis is a very painful, long term disease.
In 2003, the total cost of Arthritis was $128 billion,
including $81 billion in direct costs (medical) and $47 billion in indirect
costs (lost earnings). This total is equal to 1.2% of the 2003 U.S. gross
domestic product. Each year, Arthritis results in 992,100 hospitalizations and
44 million outpatient visits.
It is estimated that 80% of the population will have
radiographic evidence of Arthritis by age 65, although only 60% of those
will show symptoms. In the United States, hospitalizations for Arthritis
soared from about 322,000 in 1993 to 735,000 in 2006.
Arthritis is common in all races and
backgrounds. It most commonly affects middle-aged and older people, with most
people getting it after age 45. Men under age 55 are more likely to have Arthritis than women under 55.
Understand Arthritis through the
lens of Chinese Medicine and the 5 Elements, with special Treatment Protocols
for Adults, Body Points and Auriculo-Therapy Points. This is one
of the very few Acupuncture courses on Arthritis presented online today. Learn how
to treat the condition quickly and effectively using easy treatment protocols
based on the 5 Elemental Pattern.
The Ethics of Bedside Manners for Acupuncturists for 5 CEUs
4 NCCAOM Approved PDAs and Approved by the
California Acupuncture Boardfor 5 CEUs
The Ethics Of Bedside Manners for Acupuncturists is a 5 CEUs course accepted by the CA Acupuncture Board. This course
explains how the well-honed, age old skills of excellent bedside manners in
clinic can enhance an Acupuncture practice, improve the trust factor between
practitioners and their patients and promote their business. All Acupuncture
colleges are teaching practitioners how to interact personally with patients.
And there are seminars in place for doctors to brush up on their personal,
doctor-to-patient skills as well.
These skills would be extremely useful to
learn and use for Acupuncture practitioners as well. Patients say that they value practitioners who have good bedside
manners, which encompasses listening to and answering their questions and
showing empathy, sensitivity and compassion when providing care. This course is
an attempt at making clear the ethics of crucial bedside manners between
Acupuncture practitioners and their patients as well as other situations that
may occur. We will
discuss areas of our Acupuncture practice where problems may arise, read
examples, and learn how best to resolve them ethically.
(This course can be substituted with the Treating Smoking Addiction course which earns 5 CEUs/PDAs with the CA Board and the NCCAOM to complete a full 50 credits.)

"When the pulse is thready, the Heart Qi is deficient. When there are chills of the skin, the Lung Qi is deficient. When there is a lack of mobility and strength, the Liver Qi is deficient. When there is incontinence of the bowels or urine, the Kidney Qi is Deficient. When one is unable to eat or drink, Spleen Qi is Deficient. These are the five deficiencies."
